Join Us for a Bike Ride on the Erie Canal Trail!

Let’s ride from Amsterdam west to Fultonville! This section of the Erie Canal is a fully paved rail trail featuring the scenic Mohawk Valley.   The trail follows the Mohawk River while providing views of forest, greenery and the river.  Check out the Erie Canal trail website here for more information about the 750 miles of trail available.

This is a free event for socializing and outdoor activity.  Guests are welcome, and they do not need to be a member.

Let's plan to meet at the Canalway Bike Parking Lot:

We plan to be on our bikes ready to ride by 10:00 AM, and then ride west. The round trip from the Canalway Bike Parking Lot in Amsterdam to Fultonville is approximately 20 miles.  There is also an option to take a short side trip over to view the newly stabilized aqueduct built in 1841 to carry the Erie Canal over the Schoharie Creek. Everyone may ride at their own pace and distance.  (See inset maps below).

We like to stop at least once at Karen’s Produce & Ice Cream, (located on 5S, they have ice cream, food and baked goods),  and maybe have a bite to eat afterwards at Lorenzo’s Southside Italian restaurant located right next to the Canalway parking lot. (See inset maps below).
