Biking
Some of the best mountain biking trails are located right near the center of town in Stowe. The trails can be accessed from the iRide Bike shop's parking lot. The iRide bike shop is located on Mountain Road, just about a 1/4 mile from the turn off route 100. Stop into the iRide bike shop. Great folks, and they will tell you all about the trails because there are no maps.

Dining
Love Dogs and Eating?
Try Gracies

Fantastic selection of micro brews and great wines

Gourmutt Shop

If you left your pooch home and are feeling guilty, you really need to get yourself to Gracie's. Gracie's, a great restaurant and Gourmutt Shop, is located about 1 mile from the village of Stowe. This is a dog-themed pub. Pictures of the owners and patrons' dogs are wall to wall, and the Gourmutt Shop has people delicacies as well. Gracies is also right on the bike path and the huge shaded deck makes a great stop. This pub style restaurant has the food of skiers: sandwiches, burgers, fantastic selection of microbrews and great wines.(Reviewed by Bill Schaeffer)

Smokin Bowls to Go

There is nothing better than a hot bowl of soup to warm you up after a long day on the mountain! The folks at Smokin' Bowls Soup Shack provide nutritious home made soups to its customers faster than any fast food chain and at a price that won't break the bank! "Soup de Jour"? They have a minimum of 8 gourmet soups, chowders and chili on the menu on any given day.

They serve their soups in 16oz coffee cups and eco-friendly 1 and 2 quart mason jars hot and road worthy in 2 minutes with a hunk of fresh baked bread for only $5-$6 a cup! During these cold winter months every day is a good day for soup so they're open 7 days a week from 11-7pm, open till 11pm every Friday night!

The folks at Smokin' Bowls make a point to support local farms whenever possible in order to provide a truly all natural Vermont homegrown product. So come enjoy a taste of Vermont from the soup shack in Winhall at the turnoff on Vt-30 to Stratton (just before Bromley VT-11 and 30) They’re in the sugar shack! Info available at Smokinbowls.com and on Facebook.com/smokinbowls

General Stores
It's Emery's, and it is right across from our clubhouse. Emery's is a gem. Whatever you forgot, you can help the local economy by taking a walk right across the street. They have very nice wine and beer selections (yes - wine, it is VT) including all of the VT microbrews and have prices that rival our best discount places in NY. You can skip bringing lunch fixings. Just walk over as early as you are up and get terrific sandwiches at half the price of the ski areas. Right now we are lucky to have such a good business right across the street with gas prices generally 10 cents or more lower than in Schenectady.

The Frisbees are inexpensive and available at the general store right by the course. The course appears free. For directions and more information click here
